‘Open’ Golf competitions are extremely enjoyable events that add an important dimension to the game of Golf - as they enable Golfers with a range of abilities from different clubs to compete and interact at a wide variety of courses.

By publishing an ‘Open’ competition Guide, we value being able to provide many connections and opportunities for Golfers - irrespective of age and ability - for the large numbers of Golf events listed. Golf clubs also benefit through the free publicity and promotion of the events they host.


Our objectives:-

.      to provide all levels of Golfers, in all English counties, with increased awareness of the 'Open' events by publishing useful contact and specific information on a wide variety of Golf competitions being held throughout England - in an easy to use / quick reference guide.

.      to raise finance for Junior Golf Development through sales of the guide.

·      to enable Golf Clubs to promote their ‘Open’ competitions through ‘FREE ADVERTISING’ and reach out to a Golfing audience across England, therefore reducing their own costs and increasing the potential to maximise the number of players competing in the hosted events.

·      to utilise the guide to communicate guidance on a variety of golfing topics, as well as serve as a convenient advertising platform for Golf Clubs, Businesses and Golfing Organisations.

.      to provide useful guidance on Rules, Etiquette, Handicapping obligations when entering an ‘Open’ Competition, Handicap Stroke Allowances and Familiar Golf Formats.

.      to provide some ‘light-hearted’ alternative games, for those social rounds - including some that are unique and have been devised by Lacellgolf.
